Research

Dr. Sorscher's primary interest is in patient care. In the laboratory, he studied the expression of oncogenes and the loss of expression of tumor suppressor genes in human malignancies. He is author of numerous book chapters and scientific articles. He has worked with cancer patients at the University of Michigan, the University of California, San Diego, and Duke University. His work with patients has particularly focused on patients with gastrointestinal and breast cancers and those with hereditary cancer syndromes. He was also in private practice in oncology for ten years. He has taught sections of cancer pharmacology and cancer biology courses for the Mayo Clinic and the University of Wisconsin and has been a member of state and national oncology committees and panels.
