My clinical and research interest is acute myeloid leukemia (AML). In recent years, sequencing techniques have accelerated our discovery of the mutational events that contribute to the establishment and progression of AML and have highlighted the role of dysfunctional epigenetic regulators in the pathogenesis of this disease. In contrast to genetic mutations, which are considered permanent events, epigenetic changes have the potential to be restored, and this makes them attractive clinical targets. My main project focuses on understanding and improving the efficacy of epigenetic therapies in AML.
